Lingering Lights
Please remember that any lingering lights (as well as all other holiday decorations) must be taken down immediately. It is now well past the holiday season and we ask that everyone does their part by removing any remaining decorations right away. Thank you for decorating the community so beautifully during the holiday season and we appreciate your cooperation with safely removing any remaining decorations!
Snowy Streets
Please remember to park in your garage/driveway areas if at all possible during the snowy season. Parking on the street makes snow removal much more difficult and is not recommended. Thank you for your cooperation!
Dumpster Dilemma
As a reminder, the dumpsters located in the Capehart housing area (especially those by the shopette) are not to be used for personal reasons. There have been problems with people disposing of their trash, furniture, etcetera in these dumpsters. Please use only your personal trash bins. Residents may call the Rising View Leasing Office at (402) 991-9840 to schedule a bulk trash pickup if needed. Thank you for keeping our community clean and green!
Light Up the Town!
After Thanksgiving, feel free to decorate your home with Christmas lights to celebrate the season! Please be careful when putting up lights and, remember, you can illuminate them between the hours of 5:00PM and 11:00PM every day. Remember to turn them off at night to conserve energy and take them down no later than January 10th after the holiday season. We look forward to seeing the festive displays!
Changing Seasons, Changing Times
As the seasons change, there are many new things to watch for in regards to preparing your home. You may also review the snow plan posted on our website so you are prepared when the snow starts to fall. Energy Saving Tips
Society today is more aware of energy conservation than ever before. By 2018, the plan is for Rising View residents to begin paying for their utilities. The Air Force has instituted some energy saving policies which most can be adopted at home. Here are some helpful tips we can do in our homes to save energy.
- Turn off exterior and interior lights when not needed.
- Keep doors and windows closed during seasonal weather peaks, such as summer and winter, and your thermostats sets accordingly.
- In the winter season, keep your thermostat set to around 72 degrees and in the summer set to around 76 degrees.
- For other energy saving tips, you can go to the websites for OPPD and Black Hills energy.
